Tarragona
e ancient Roman Tarraco is now a city that proudly
wears its legacy and uses it to help make large gatherings
even more brilliant. Its selection, which is already ex-
tremely varied, is complemented by the continued growth
of the neighbouring town Salou with its Port Aventura
theme park. e climate of the city, its unmistakeable
light, and its privileged location on the shore of the Medi-
terranean Sea are the reasons this city continues to be a
destination for travellers.
Main Venues
In addition to the unique rock walls, the Palacio de Ferias y
Congresos de Tarragona building is characterized by its vast
arcades. It hosts two well-equipped auditoriums, the largest

Also, the Centro Tarraconense El Seminari, along with the

Port Aventura Business & Events product. Its convention
centre includes multifunctional and modular meeting

verted into a large capacity auditorium. Another great facil-
ity in the province is the Fira Reus trade fair and convention

Archaeological Site
Tarraco was the rst roman military establishment outside
of the Italian Peninsula, and the city that served as a base for
the Roman conquest, organization, and structuring of Hispa-
nia. e ancient capital of the province of Tarraconensis con-
tinues to be the visible, eternal heart of modern Tarragona.
e ruins combine, in the light of the sun, the work of other
centuries and the shining blue of the Mediterranean.
e Monastery Of Poblet
e impressive architectural achievement of Poblet is among
the most important monastic sites of Europe. In addition to
the magnicent church, a noteworthy example of Cistercian
art, it still preserves almost all of the structures that once
housed a lively, expanding religious community. It thrived
thanks to the protection of the rulers of the Kingdom of
Aragon, especially after Peter III “e Ceremonious” turned
it into a royal pantheon.

capilla de San Pablo, del siglo , una verdadera joya.

Mención especial merece PortAventura, con su producto

incluye salones de reuniones multifuncionales y modula-

Conjunto arqueológico
Tarraco fue la primera fundación militar romana fuera de la
península itálica y la ciudad desde donde se impulsó la con-
quista, ordenación y estructuración de Hispania. La antigua
capital de la provincia de Tarraconensis sigue siendo el co-
razón visible y latente de la moderna Tarragona. Sus restos
prominentes se mezclan, en una cálida atmósfera, con los
perles de otros siglos y con el brillo azul del Mediterráneo.
Monasterio de Poblet
El impresionante conjunto arquitectónico de Poblet se
puede contar entre los monumentos monásticos más im-
portantes de Europa. Además de la magníca iglesia, desta-
cado ejemplo del arte cisterciense, se conservan casi todas
las construcciones que albergaron a una comunidad en plena
vitalidad y expansión, gracias a la protección de los soberanos
de la Corona de Aragón, especialmente desde que Pedro III el
Ceremonioso convirtió el lugar en panteón real.
