Backed by a history marked by a colourful crossroads of
civilisations that culminated in the Nasrid masterpiece of the
Alhambra. e most Moorish of the Spanish capitals is also a
magnet for activity due to its unique venues, its vibrant
cultural and social life in which a good tapas is never lacking,
and as a result of all of the impressive natural attractions that
the province has to oer.
VENUES
e Palacio de Congresos de Granada convention centre is
the main venue in the city for big meetings. It has a large
space, the Federico García Lorca auditorium, with up to,
seats. In addition, it has up to twenty rooms of dierent sizes
to meet any type of need, among which the Manuel de Falla
room stands out, with a capacity for attendees. The
Abadía del Sacromonte, the Carmen de los Mártires, the Casa
de Zafra, the Cuarto Real de Santo Domigno, the Hacienda
Señorío de Nevada, the Palacio de los Córdova, the Palacio de
Quinta Alegre and the facilities of the port of Motril are the
other proposals in the city of Granada.
ACCOMMODATION
The figures for Granada’s accommodation capacity are
signicant. It currently has hotels, according to data from
the Spain Convention Bureau, which represents more
than, rooms. Among the most prominent for the
segment, with large meeting rooms, are the Palacio de
Santa Ana, Alhambra Place Hotel, Barceló Congress, Barceló
Carmen, Abades Nevada Palace, Abades Recogidas, Andalucía
Center, Granada Center, Gran Hotel Luna and Saray.
INCENTIVES
Tours through the traditional Albaicín neighbourhood, visits
to the must-see Alhambra and the Nasrid Palaces, shows in
the amenco tablaos of Sacromonte, tapas routes, scavenger
hunts through the downtown area, relaxation in an
Andalusian hammam… e possibilities for incentive travel
in Granada are endless. If the capital enchants visitors, the
entire province is not far behind in cultural and natural
attractions. e Sierra Nevada National Park, with the highest
peak in the Iberian Peninsula —Mulhacén— and with the
southernmost ski resort in Europe, is also a good opportunity
for hiking. On its southern face lies the Alpujarra, a mythical
territory, full of legends.
CAVES AND FLAMENCO
The Sacromonte quarter is where all the emotion of
Andalusian amenco can be found, an art that is particularly
special in Granada. is is where the zambra style was born,
half Moorish, half gypsy. Many of the tablaos –bars with live
shows– can be found in the neighbourhood’s characteristic
caves. Another highly recommended way of experiencing
unique amenco singing sessions are the peñas amencas.
Some of the most representative of Granada are located in
the Albaicín neighbourhood. Generally speaking, peñas are
formed by a group of friends who get together to share their
love of this craft.

una buena tapa y por los enormes atractivos naturales que
ofrece la provincia.
VENUES
El Palacio de Congresos de Granada es la principal apuesta
de la ciudad para las grandes reuniones. Cuenta con un
gran espacio, el auditorio Federico García Lorca, de has-
ta. plazas. Además, ofrece hasta una veintena de salas
de distinto tamaño para dar servicio a cualquier tipo de ne-
cesidad, entre las que destaca la Manuel de Falla, con capa-
cidad para asistentes. La Abadía del Sacromonte, el
Carmen de los Mártires, la Casa de Zafra, el Cuarto Real de
Santo Domingo, la Hacienda Señorío de Nevada, el Palacio
de los Córdova, el Palacio de Quinta Alegre y las instalacio-
nes del puerto de Motril son otras de las propuestas de la
capital granadina.
ALOJAMIENTOS
Las cifras de la capacidad alojativa de Granada son muy im-
portantes. Actualmente cuenta con hoteles, según los
datos del Spain Convention Bureau, lo que supone más
de. habitaciones. Entre los más destacados para el seg-
mento , con salas de reunión de gran tamaño, se en-
cuentran el Palacio de Santa Ana, Alhambra Place Hotel,
Barceló Congress, Barceló Carmen, Abades Nevada Palace,
Abades Recogidas, Andalucía Center, Granada Center, Gran
Hotel Luna y Saray.
INCENTIVOS
Itinerarios por el tradicional barrio del Albaicín, visitas a la
imprescindible Alhambra y los Palacios Nazaríes, espectácu-
los en los tablaos amencos del Sacromonte, rutas de tapas,
ginkanas por el casco urbano, descanso en un hammam an-
dalusí… Las posibilidades de incentivo en Granada son ilimi-
tadas. Si la capital hechiza a los visitantes, la provincia ente-
ra no se queda atrás en atractivos culturales y naturales. El
Parque Nacional de Sierra Nevada, con el pico más alto de la
península ibérica —el Mulhacén— y con la estación de esquí
más meridional de Europa, es también una buena oportuni-
dad para la práctica del senderismo.
CUEVAS Y FLAMENCO
El Sacromonte esconde todo el duende del amenco anda-
luz, un arte que en Granada posee un embrujo especial. Aquí
nació la zambra, mitad morisca, mitad gitana. Muchos de los
tablaos —bares con espectáculo en vivo— se encuentran en
las características cuevas del barrio. Otra modalidad muy
recomendable para vivir buenas sesiones de cante son las
peñas de amenco. En el barrio del Albaicín se ubican algu-
nas de las más representativas de la capital granadina. Gene-
ralmente, las peñas están formadas por un grupo de amigos
que se reúnen para compartir su gran ación.
