Segovia
e capital of the Segovia province is a great example of how a well-managed and well-connected small city can result in an
attractive and competitive destination. If we add to this the proximity of another big city, rst-rate cuisine and heritage that
is dicult to beat, the result is more than outstanding.
VENUES
In Segovia, the largest meetings take place in three hotel
establishments. e largest and with the most diversied
oer is the Puerta de Segovia hotel, with a capacity to hold
meetings with more than, people and cocktails
for, guests. Secondly, the Cándido hotel, owned by the
famous master chef, which can hold about half a thousand
people in theatre style and about, for cocktails. A third
proposal for events in hotels is the Parador. If the organiser
prefers a publicly-owned venue, they can choose between
the Juan Bravo eatre, a building from the early twentieth
century, or the Minimos Convent, which also has a
restaurant.
ACCOMMODATION
e Castilian city has seven-star hotels, eight-star hotels
and one-star hotel. In total there are more than a thousand
rooms and, beds. Among the most prominent are the
Eurostars Convento Capuchinos; the Parador de Segovia,
with meeting rooms; the Cándido Hotel; the San Antonio
el Real; the Eurostars Plaza Acueducto; the Los Arcos Hotel;
or the Real Segovia.
INCENTIVES
As a very touristy city, incentive organisers have a broad
selection to choose from. e options range from proposals
related to the city’s Roman past, with the omnipresent
aqueduct as the symbol of the city, to dierent museums and
more spectacular activities such as ying through the skies
in a balloon or on a plane. A groundbreaking initiative is that
of discovering the secrets of the quintessential Spanish
whisky: that distilled by the DYC brand. Its facilities oer
educational guided tours and activities for groups. Industrial
tourism also stands out, as the city was home to some of the
rst factories in the country in the days of Philip II.
SEGOVIA AND THE CINEMA
e city is committed to cinematographic activity in multiple
aspects with the Segovia Film Office. In the first place, it
oers many resources for those who want to lm here, such
as grants, location scouting, and more. Second, it promotes
the celebration of contests and festivals in the city. And,
thirdly, it oers interesting routes that explore the settings
that have served as the backdrop for lms of national and
international prestige.
